John McNaught is currently the Division 2 Shire Councillor with Caboolture Shire Council. He has held this full-time position as an elected representative for 10 years. In 2000, he unsuccessfully contested the Mayoral position for Caboolture Shire Council and in hindsight, this was meant to be.

The dedicated band are at it again – putting the wheels in motion for another great Dayboro Day Festival! Following on from the success of the Antiques & Collectables Fair held at the Dayboro Showgrounds as part of the Festival last year, this will be bigger and better this year!

CANCER FUNDRAISER A HUGE SUCCESS
A fantastic time was had by all at the Terrors Turtles Relay for Life Team’s Cancer Research fundraising evening at the Dayboro Show Grounds on February 16. The Kelly Gang kept the crowd entertainment, as did the Flamenco Dancers. Dayboro’s own Apex boys worked hard keeping the drinks flowing and Phil Black did a wonderful job as auctioneer.

Adventure Woman teaches people to row . . . . and more
(Left to Right) Adventure Women, Sharon Jones from Bray Park and Liana Kestles from Murrumba Downs, love oars. This year’s Adventure Women program runs from Saturday 1 March to Sunday 31 May, for women 16 years and over, will encourage participants to experience a variety of sporting and recreation activities in a friendly, supportive and non-competitive environment.

Biosphere plans for the D’Aguilar Range landscape
(BIOSPHERE MEETING March 17 – see separate article)
Community groups and residents are encouraged to examine a plan to create a sustainable future for the D’Aguilar Range and its surrounds through a Biosphere initiative.
Biosphere project spokesperson Rosalind Leslie said the voluntary integrated land management strategy is aimed at securing the social, economic and environmental values of the D’Aguilar Range and its surrounding landscape ahead of, and in concert with, the region’s predicted growth.
