Teaching Art has been a lifetime commitment for Artist of the Month Lillian E Tebesceff. Originally a high school teacher then lecturer, Lillian has been involved in the Arts, both professionally and as a hobby, throughout her life.  Currently she teaches on behalf of Pine Rivers U3A and her Academy "Tintart", which recently exhibited to great reviews at Redcliffe Community Gallery.

Dec2014_ The ‘Woodfordia’ Festival of Small Halls Returns to Mt Mee on Dec 21

FOSH is back!  The Woodford Folk Festival and the Mt Mee Hall Committee are jointly promoting a folk event under the ‘Festival of Small Halls’ banner in our Hall on Sunday 21st December.

Nov2014_DAYBORO ART GALLERY NEWS

Throughout November the Gallery features the work of Majella Holten, whose creative focus began with ballroom dancing. Over the past five years this has shifted as she has  immersed herself in the visual arts. With a second cousin an eight time winner of the Archibald prize as inspiration, Majella has participated in many workshops with talented Australian artists, is currently doing Diploma studies in Visual Arts, as well as courses in Ceramics and Sculpture.

I’m a really light sleeper. I like it like that.  Actually I don’t have a choice so I just say that.  Truly though, I hear the night birds – curlews, owls, others I don’t know but I still hear them – and the cough of the odd fox, plenty of dingoes, wild pigs grunting, flying foxes.  Everything.

Oct2014_SYMPHONY ON THE MOUNTAIN

THE SUNSHINE COAST SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
The fabulous Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra plays its 2014 annual Mt Mee concert on Sunday 9th November.
The afternoon concert will begin at 2pm and run until about 4.30pm, with an interval of some thirty minutes to allow patrons to attend adequately to the traditional generous “Country” afternoon tea.

Oct2014_SO WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING

I guess everybody has experienced it at some time or other.  Excruciating pain, I mean. I copped a dose the other day.  A pallet slipped from my ute while I was unloading some rubbish at Dakabin dump.  Not enough care – no steel caps – in a hurry.  I expected my left big toe to be squashed to pulp and in need of immediate amputation.
