I was interested to read the article in the Grapevine about New Zealand war hero Cyril Basset, and the general lack of recognition of New Zealanders in WW1.
February proved a hectic month, finishing off with my son’s wedding (see page 29).
Having said that, is it any wonder that I didn’t have my eye on the approach of Easter. Talk about being caught “on the hop” . . It has only just ‘clicked’ that Easter will have been and gone before the next edition is out!

So much for requesting from UnityWater that a firefighting water main be installed in the Dayboro Showgrounds (see November 2014 edition of the Dayboro Grapevine).
U3A Pine Rivers Inc will be holding their monthly Social and Information meeting on Friday 20th February 2015 gathering from 9.30am for 10.00am start. The meeting will be held at Bray Hall, Cnr Cooke and O’Loane Sts, Petrie. Our Guest Speaker this time will be James Lergessner , author of many publications about South East Queensland.
Our Vice President, Glynnis Gartside was honoured to represent the Zonta Club of Pine Rivers on November 29th 2014, at the opening of the Project Now facility at the Salvation Army Moonyah premises. The creation from scratch of this 20 bed facility for rehabilitating women with addictions is a wonderful achievement.
We at the AIR meet monthly at the Wavell Heights Community Hall each Third Friday at 9.30am until about 11.30am. We normally have a guest speaker – February’s will be discussing Australian Hearing.
