As this is my first column in the Dayboro Grapevine I would like to take the opportunity to humbly thank the people of Pine Rivers for giving me their support and trust as their representative locally and in State Parliament.

DAYBORO DAY – 24th Year!

This huge event draws visitors from far and wide, including interstate, and not only contributes to the growing interest in our area as a tourist destination, but is the final major activity of the annual Pine Rivers Festival.  This mainly free event, which I am pleased to say continues to be supported by Council, also provides an opportunity for local community groups to raise valuable funds to support their activities.  

The Moreton Bay Regional Council has received $1,303,604 from the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery programme, which assists with local road construction and maintenance.

OUTDOOR EXERCISE EQUIPMENT AND TENNIS TABLE

By the time this edition of the Grapevine “hits the streets”, the outdoor table tennis table should be installed adjacent to the Skate Park and work will be well advanced on installation of the outdoor exercise equipment being located in Tullamore Park near the entrance road to the kindergarten.  These two projects which I have mentioned previously are excellent partnerships between Council, Dayboro Lions with the Progress Association, the State Government and a private donor contributing to the exercise equipment.

Join Councillor Bob Millar and his family for the third instalment of the hit animated Madagascar movie series at John Scott Park, Samford on Friday, April 17.

 

Construction is complete on the final stage of the Dayboro Showgrounds’ rodeo arena upgrade, with Moreton Bay Regional Council delivering a new, $240,000 holding yard and spectator stand.
