The U3A Monthly Meeting: June 15th
The U3A Pine Rivers Inc wish to advise of our normal monthly meeting on the 15th June at Bray Hall, Cnr Cook and O’Loan Sts @ Petrie.

Property offences
There has been a significant reduction in property offences over the last month. 
Overnight on 3rd May entry was gained to a number of buses at the Brisbane Bus Lines depot on Mount Mee Rd.  Two way radios were the main property target.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Regional Achievement and Community Awards for 2012.
This year Cairns and Gladstone will host the Official Launches and Call for nominations in the Queensland Regional Achievement & Community Awards.  The Awards encourage, acknowledge and reward valuable contributions and outstanding achievements of individuals, communities, networks and groups in regional and rural areas of Queensland.

The AIR Brisbane North advise of our normal monthly meeting on the 15th June at Edingburgh Castle Rd, Wavell Heights on the right-hand side at the top of the hill behind the Child Care Building.

On Sunday April 22nd, Samford and District Carriage Drivers Inc. held a cone driving competition at the Dayboro Showgrounds.  A numbered course consisting of 20 sets of witches’ hats with small balls on top was set up for the carriage drivers to negotiate.

Samford Valley Steiner School is the first school in Queensland to become an approved Student Exchange Organisation (SEO) under new national guidelines.  The Department of Education and Training, International Quality Unit who approved the school’s application, congratulated them on their achievement

A chorus of “Happy Birthday Aunty Eunice” was sung by a large number of relatives of Eunice Hope Rose (formerly Williams) on Sunday 29th April 2012 at the Dayboro Show Grounds.  The Rose and Williams families came together on the day to celebrate the long life of a very gracious lady.

The Dayboro Grapevine’s Coordinator, Doreen Spillman, now joins the ranks of proud grandmas everywhere, following the birth of Calais Elena Spillman on Saturday 12th May.

Errol and Rosslyn Herron of Cedar Creek are happy to announce the safe and natural arrival of twins, Ruby Kate 4 lbs 14 ozs and Grace Jane 5 lb 1 oz, to their proud parents, Daniel and Lorna Herron on the 24th of April at the Caboolture Hospital.

As the mercury drops and winter approaches Ausgrid is urging households to think carefully when buying a new heater and to use it wisely.
Ausgrid’s energy efficiency expert Paul Myors said it’s important to know the different heating options available and how their costs compare over the cooler months.
