Charity Art Auction for the Qld Cancer Council

Council’s Pine Rivers Art Gallery in conjunction with The Coffee Club, Strathpine will showcase top local artworks from February 9 that will culminate in a Charity Art Auction for the Queensland Cancer Council, on Monday March 9.
Division 7 Councillor David Dwyer said to date several high-calibre local artworks had been donated by Amanda Russian, Sharon Jewell, Di Minnar and Ann O’Connor.

I have just returned from an educational to the Maldives……one of the perks in my job I guess but someone has to do it don’t they?  The Maldives would be the most beautiful place I have been to and is now my new favourite destination.  I went over there with very high expectations and was absolutely blown away.  Surrounded by lagoons and reefs teeming with marine life, this island destination is the perfect setting for that special holiday.

Vigilance helps keep mozzies at bay

Recent rain is likely to bring mosquitoes in coming weeks, and Moreton Bay Regional Council is asking residents to help it keep the number of insects down.
Mayor Allan Sutherland said council had already carried out a number of aerial treatments across the region to reduce the number of mosquitoes and it was now concentrating on carrying out groundwork.

On 7th November a vehicle which had been stolen from the Petrie area was located on Winn Road, Cashmere after being involved in a single vehicle collision.
There have been a number of recent incidents of damage to property in the park area around the Dayboro pool.

In Anchorage we boarded another train which took us to Denali.  Denali National Park is nothing like we expected – it becomes a treeless tundra right before your eyes.  We were lucky enough to get a good view of Mt McKinlay, the tallest mountain in the USA.
