2009 DEFENCE TECHNICAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS CLOSING SOON

Year 11 and 12 students interested in an Australian Defence Force (ADF) technical trade career need to act quickly to be a part of the 2009 Defence Technical Scholarships.
Applications for the 2009 Defence Technical Scholarships close on 13 February 2009 for all States and Territories, with the exception of Tasmania, where applications close on 27 February 2009.
Up to 1500 students across Australia have the opportunity to receive either $2000 for Year 11 or $3000 for Year 12, just by staying on at school and studying particular subjects.
The Minister for Defence Science and Personnel, the Hon. Warren Snowdon MP, said that the Scholarships are a fantastic incentive for technically-savvy students to consider the rewards of a Defence career.
"More than 2000 Schools have already registered to participate and applications for the 2009 Scholarships will close in February, so students need to move quickly to be a part of it."
Students must also be studying a non-modified maths subject and either an approved vocational technical trade or technical syllabus subject to be eligible.
