Sep2013_GROW YOUR GREEN THUMB

– WORKSHOPS WITH MBRC
Whip your garden into shape this spring with a series of free workshops on offer from Moreton Bay Regional Council.
Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Lifestyle and Amenity spokesperson and Division Four councillor, Julie Greer, said between September and November council would host a number of gardening workshops aimed at helping residents grow their green thumb.
“The free workshops will cover everything you need to know from designing, planting and maintaining the simplest to the most advanced gardens,” Cr Greer said.
“Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just eager to try your hand at a vegie and herb garden this summer, the workshops cater for all ages.
Kids will also have the chance to try their hand at planting their first veggie patch and learn how to transform household items into handy garden tools.”
Cr Greer said council programs including the Interactive Gardening Workshops were aimed at promoting active lifestyles with healthy and sustainable eating habits.
“I encourage all residents who are interested in creating or growing their own garden to book into one of the nine workshops available.”
Residents of the Moreton Bay Region are eligible for the free workshops.
Bookings are essential and opened at 9am, Tuesday 20 August until Tuesday 3 September, 2013.
