Proposed Amendment to PineRiversPlan

Council is proposing to make a number of amendments to the PineRiversPlan, to be known as Amendment 1/2007.
The PineRiversPlan came into effect December 15, 2006. Mayor Allan Sutherland said the purpose and general effect of proposed Amendment 1/2007 was to streamline the assessment process for domestic and other minor development, correct various maps and to make the use of overlay codes easier.

Cr Sutherland said Amendment 1/2007 affected the planning scheme’s Zone Assessment Tables, Overlay Codes, Development Codes, Administrative Definitions Schedule, Zone Maps and Overlay Code Maps.
“The process of reviewing the new planning scheme has involved extensive consultation with internal stakeholders and prioritisation of issues raised,” he said.

“In December 2007, council forwarded proposed amendments to the State Government for the first state interest review.
“On June 10, 2008 council received notification from the Minister, that it may publicly notify the proposed planning scheme amendments.”

Any person may make a written submission to council about any aspect of proposed Amendment 1/2007 during the consultation period, from Monday June 23 until Friday August 1.
