Nov2014_JACKSON PRODUCE

A new business recently launched in Dayboro, Jackson Produce.  Basically the business is about ordering home-grown produce via a website, for pick-up within designated time slots in the Dayboro township area – at 23 Williams Street, Dayboro.
Local resident, founder Brett Jackson, is a chef by trade, having worked at Chef Matt Moran’s Aria Restaurant in Brisbane for the last couple of years.  With a certification in Horticulture, Brett’s passion for food sees him now trying to close the gap between the farmer and the chef.
On the  family-owned 6 acres of land they grow fruit and vegetables to supply for the family, raise animals including beef cows, sheep, chickens, ducks, and guinea fowl.  This business venture has been planned and thought of over the last two years.
Brett is looking to provide this service for the community while supporting the produce suppliers.  The concept of the business to only be buying product to fill orders, allows for always providing fresh product.  Overhead costs related to food wastage and deliveries is restricted, and these savings are then passed on to the customer.
Starting off as a sole trader, it is hoped to grow the business to then allow for employment of other family members, keeping it a family business.
