The Basics of Pruning
The aim of pruning plants is to keep them healthy and in shape. Pruning can also extend the flowering time of the plant. Now is a good time to lightly prune, to clean up and neaten the look of your garden, in preparation for the colder months when your garden is dormant.
New growth comes through in early Spring. This article will outline what sort of pruning you can do, like pinching and thinning, and the basics of how to do it. There are a few mistakes that can be made when pruning, and I will address a few of these.
