DAYBORO WIMBLEDON CUP CHALLENGE – 2015
Join us for our 4th Annual Dayboro Wimbledon Cup Challenge – WIMBLEDON, Dayboro Style.
SATURDAY 20th JUNE – LIVE FROM 2:00 PM
Who will take the titles this year!
Our Annual Dayboro Wimbledon Cup Challenge, Family Fun Day, offers an alternative to the iconic Wimbledon.
While the top seeds are preparing for the UK event, locals from Dayboro and Surrounds will be dusting off their racquets and preparing their costumes! Oh Yes! You heard right! Costumes.
Teams of doubles (Entries just $30 per team) get to dress as their favourite tennis idols, superhero characters or whatever takes the imagination. Prizes will be given to Best Dressed and Best Team Name even Best Impersonation while playing!
With an emphasis on fun, the tournament itself is split into two skill sets. Skilled players and those who want to “give it a go!” Everyone is welcome to enter, Children, Teenagers, Adults, Business Teams, local groups and individuals.
If you don’t have a partner simply enter and we will find one for you!
Off court will see FREE family fun all around! Music, Mini Tennis, Jumping Castle, Face Painting and Giveaways. We’ll even have a BBQ, Slushies, Strawberries & Cream and Bar. (No BYO permitted).
So save the date, Saturday afternoon, 20th June. Wimbledon, “Dayboro Style” Family Fun Day. A fun day out for the whole community!
DAYBORO WIMBLEDON CUP CHALLENGE – 2015 – ARE YOU UP TO THE CHALLENGE
Dayboro Tennis Club would like to take this opportunity to thank Sally Morrison for her, and her families, service to Dayboro Tennis Club. The Morrison-Rose family have given 100% to our tennis club over the years. Sally has organised her fair share of BBQ’s, homebaking, extra volunteers and raffle prizes. Graeme has been Terry The Tennis Ball’s private chauffeur on many an occasion, along with helping mend the fences after the storms, clean up after floods, serving beers at Wimbledon Days to name just a few. Their children, Max, Elliot and Ruby have seen their “spare time” put to good community service too, whether it’s selling raffle tickets/slushies, face-painting, participating in raft races, parades or entering teams in our Wimbledon Challenge or entertaining the little ones on the courts. Sally and her entourage do more than I could ever list here, organising everything from tables and chairs to clean ups after our fundraising events. If that isn’t enough, they even rope in the Grandparents when we are short of hands.
This Wimbledon will be the Morrison-Rose families last DTC event as active committee members. Dayboro Tennis Club would not be the successful club it is today without their tireless commitment. Thank you and all the best to you all.
