Jun2013_SAMFORD MUSEUM NEWS
COMING EVENTS
SATURDAY 22nd June 2013 is Trash and Treasure Day at the museum in Station St Samford.
All are welcome to join in and enjoy our very first “Trash and Treasure” sale on this date. All goods for sale are kindly donated by our volunteers, family and/or friends. There will also be a Devonshire tea, soup and sausage sizzle available.
A beautiful sunny Sunday on 5th May saw John Scott Park transformed into a sight to behold. Over 50 colorful motor vehicles owned by members of Brisbane Northside Antique Automobile Association arrived and were displayed in the grounds adjacent to our museum. These were of course magnificently restored back to new condition and dated way back to the early 1900’s. Along with around 80 visitors accompanying the cars many people of Samford and districts turned up to inspect the incredible vehicles and to chat with their proud owners. The owners and friends took the opportunity to look over our own many and varied displays.
Our volunteers continue to play host to the many groups of people who come along to enjoy the personal memories recalled by viewing the objects synonymous with their early lives. As many as four groups have visited in a week. Volunteers really enjoy chatting with these people who all have interesting tales to relate.
