Entries open for 16th Annual Pine Rivers Art Awards

Entries close 5pm, Friday 14 March, 2008

Entries for the 16th Annual Pine Rivers Art Awards are now open with a prize pool of $8,500 up for grabs, including the prestigious Pine Rivers Art Award valued at $5,000.

Pine Rivers Mayor Yvonne Chapman said in addition to this prize money the council had also budgeted to acquire artworks to the value of $20,000 for its art collection.

Mayor Chapman said the awards attracted hundreds of entries each year from both established and emerging artists.

“Most prizes are non acquisitive this year, which council hopes will attract a high calibre of artist to enter the awards,” she said.

Mayor Chapman said there would be a pre-selection process for all categories in 2008 and the winners of the awards would be announced at the official opening of the exhibition and the Pine Rivers Festival on Friday 23 May.

“In 2008, all categories of the awards will be open to residents of Caboolture, Pine Rivers and Redcliffe Councils,” she said.
