Food safety was an area of some professional activity for me in my working life and this issue is now attracting considerable public interest following recent health issues with imported foodstuffs.

A 20 year old locally trained rider, Andi Santos, has been selected to compete in the upcoming South East Asian Games to be held in Singapore in early June. Andi will compete for the Philippines on her horse “Kalandro”, who will fly out on the 31st of May.
Well this is a strange one . . . Usually at this time of year I am writing this column after attending the Dayboro Day Festival (before sending the edition off for printing . . . having filled in the spaces left for the festival news such as the award winners). Not this year! . . . You will have to wait until the July edition for that round-up as this year’s June edition will already be printed and about to be delivered when the festival happens.
End of financial year time feels a lot like Christmas except the gift you are buying is for yourself. Much anxiety is created at this time of year by a barrage of car and office stationery ads making you feel like the Christmas Grinch if you don’t fork out some cash.
