Enter the mEYE World Photographic Competition

Macular Disease Foundation Australia is calling for entries into the fifth annual mEYE World Photographic Competition and is asking all Australians to submit a photograph that captures the theme:  See My World.

Dayboro Pony Club recently hosted almost 70 riders and their families at the Dayboro Showgrounds for Zone Camp, on 20 and 21 June.  Thanks to some dedicated volunteers from the Dayboro Trail Riders Club, many of these riders had their first ever trail ride, as well as trying all kinds of equestrian disciplines including dressage, show jumping, hoofball, mechanical cow, sporting, and obstacle course.

Technology is improving at a rapid rate – and so it is with the advances in smoke detection in households.  

All smoke detectors, up until recently, have been designed and manufactured without consideration for those with hearing impairment.

At the end of last term the Dayboro State School Choir visited the Dayboro Conversation Club.  The students performed three of their latest songs.  The choir was conducted both by their Music Teacher, Mrs Baskin, and one of the student music leaders.  The students sang beautifully with such a happy and fun energy.  The students were true professionals.   When their backing music didn’t play they just sang a cappella. 

Property Offences

Between 11th and 12th July two fish tanks and related equipment and a Ninja garden gnome were stolen from the front patio and a rear garden shed of a Laidlaw Street property.

Stella’s month not exactly Boar-ing

Locals will tell you that a sighting of a wild pig can be a pretty common occurrence around here, but what about a pig coming into your backyard and attacking your pets?  That’s exactly what one local family witnessed in July when their gentle giant Bull Arab dog, Stella, was set upon by a wild boar early in the morning.
