We recently had the pleasure of looking after Sarah, a blue cattle dog pup, who first came to us at nine weeks old.

We recently had the pleasure of looking after Sarah, a blue cattle dog pup, who first came to us at nine weeks old.
Sarah’s adventurous life on her family’s farm meant she was enjoying time with the horses when one of them kicked her. It was Sarah’s dad, Josh’s, first visit to the Old Mill Vet Surgery and the nurses predictably all fell in love with Sarah’s cute floppy ears and brave attitude.
After taking X-rays, Dr Annika confirmed that the leg was broken in two places, although you wouldn’t know it by Sarah’s wagging tail and happy smile! Under sedation, the limb was manipulated back into place and a cute pink cast applied.
Sure enough, as soon as Sarah was awake, her tail was back wagging and she was keen to get into mischief. She will have weekly check-ups to ensure the cast is still clean and dry, but will make a full recovery and be back to ‘rounding up’ those big horses again soon.
