JOY LEISHMAN Feb 2008
Joy Leishman Mayoral Candidate
Joy Leishman’s campaign for Mayor of the newly created Moreton Bay Regional Council was launched in December at Wantima Country Club.
Serving as an elected representative of Caboolture Shire Council since 1985, Deputy Mayor from 1988 and Mayor from 2000, Joy Leishman is a strong and dedicated leader.
Joy believes in striving for balance between building an economically sustainable region whilst maintaining the core elements at the heart of ‘community’.
Joy feels that whilst these communities are united by common goals – to feel secure in their homes, enjoy beautiful parks and sporting facilities, drive on safe roads and share equal access to Council services – they also exist as individual areas, with strong identities. She believes that we should continue to celebrate the unique character of such areas, through their local festivals and events, and grow in the knowledge that we are to unite as one region.
Joy Leishman, is not a member of any political party, nor aligned with any sectional group.
As Mayor of Moreton Bay Regional Council, Joy and will represent all without fear or favour, just as she has been doing as Mayor of Caboolture Shire.
