Take a bow Dayboro Players!

On September 12 and 13 the Dayboro Players presented “The Curse of the Golden Dagger”, at the Dayboro Community Hall.  I attended the Friday performance.

Meet the cast.  They are:

1st row (L to R) Brad Ventura, Sharyn Durley (also the Playwright), Karen Naylor, Ashleigh Calam, Kevin Seymour,

2nd Row (L to R) Sharon James, Mary Enchelmaier, Allison Brinkworth, Richard O’Connor and Joe Calam.

(Brad was 1st out of the sarcaphogas – so I missed that shot!)

What a great night’s entertainment was had by all – including the Dayboro Players!  A couple of ‘oopsies’ but the recovery from these produced more laughs for the audience.

It’s a shame we have to wait a whole year for the next one – but, in view of the level of commitment required, it is understandable.

I commented that Richard O’Connor performance of the character, Neil, was reminiscent of Neil, on The Young Ones.  (The Young Ones was an 80s British comedy about 4 college students sharing a house, and the character Neil was a depressed hippie.)  My daughter gave me a funny look and said, “No. He’s like Ozzy Osbourne.”  A generational thing perhaps, Which did you relate Richard’s performance to?
