MOVIE NEWS:  Changed Saturday for October movie i.e. 4th Saturday
The Dayboro Lions Community movies ran again after a hiatus of a few months, and a good audience of young attendees proved it still to be viable.  Because of the availability, or lack of, an appropriate movie on the usual third Saturday, next movie will be on Saturday 26th October, when we will screen Smurfs 2.  All else remains the same:  In the community hall, $6 adult, $18/family, doors open 6:30, screening starts at 7:00pm, chips, chocolate, popcorn, drinks available.  Email Dayboro.lions@gmail.com , or phone 0466 619 660 for information.

MEETINGS AND MEMBERSHIP:  The September dinner meeting was a very sociable successful visit by the District vice-governor, Greg Rollison at which three inductions of  new members  – Stefan and Jacqui over from Apex, and Dugi Wilson, along with a transfer in from another Lions club, Jackie Harrison.  All were welcomed into our club, which increased our membership by four in total.
But there is always room for more community spirited paragons, – so why not come along to our next business meeting to hear about our good work.  This meeting is on the 2nd Wednesday of the month – 9th October – and will discuss the implementation of the many events we support and run in the lead-up to Christmas.  New initiatives are always welcome.  Our club is an easy-going outfit, very ‘Dayboro’!  Meetings are held in the Council room next to the ECU, and begin at 7:00pm.

NEXT OPEN DINNER MEETING – 23rd October:
Want to live longer?  Then all are invited to come along to our next open dinner meeting on 23rd October  to hear a talk by the Heart Foundation’s  David Kelly  See: http://www.heartfoundation.org.au/support-us/community-speakers/Pages/default.aspx    The meeting is to be held in the Uniting Church hall, and an optional meal can be ordered and purchased on the night for just $12.  Drinks are BYO.  Tea and coffee are provided.

….More Next Month
