Oct2013_NORTH PINE POULTRY CLUB

(NPPC)
The NPPC welcomes anyone interested in purebred poultry. The club promotes heritage breeds of poultry and provides a venue for members to share and obtain information on a range of topics.
By joining, members help to support the preservation of biodiversity in domesticated poultry; one of the club’s key objectives. If you’re interested in keeping backyard poultry, showing, breeding or collecting beautiful birds, there’s something for everyone. New prospective members are always welcome.
On Saturday, 21 September, the club held its regular bi-monthly meeting and AGM. We would like to thank the outgoing executive for their hard work and achievements in the past 12 months including Cathy Newton (President), Alan Luke (Vice President), Ross Coe (Secretary), Joy Luke (Treasurer), Lyle Gonchee (Assistant Secretary).
Meeting Highlight:  Guest speaker, Len Web is a poultry enthusiast who assists people wishing to purchase pure breeds of poultry.  Len covered a range of topics such as diversity; poultry care, preparing poultry for shows – including Australian/International breeding and judging standards.
On display (and for handling) were two examples of his prize winning roosters; a Dark Barred Plymouth Rock (USA)and Buff Orphington (UK) breeds.
Len Web is available every Sunday at the Caboolture markets (goat shed) where he sells a diverse range of heritage poultry to the interested public.
The NPPC looks forward to an informative and exciting year ahead led by the new Committee:
