Nov2010_Introducing Samford Community Choir

Love to sing? Looking for a fun group of people to sing some great songs with on a regular basis?
Samford Community Choir, based out of the Farmers Hall in Samford, is a vibrant community choir of people who just love to sing. It welcomes all-comers of any ability, from complete novices to those who have sung in a choir before. Its 24 members (7 men and 17 women) comprise people from all walks of life, including teachers, lawyers, child carers, young parents, retired people and many others.
The choir is led by experienced musician and conductor, Rhonda Coady.  Its repertoire is varied and ranges from old favourites like ‘Sounds of Silence’, ‘California Dreamin’ and ‘What a Wonderful World’, to music from Korea and Arnhem Land.  At this time of year, the choir also rehearses a number of Christmas carols.
In the past, members of the choir have taken great joy in singing for the Samford community at fetes, nursing homes and other community groups. It is next looking to perform Christmas carols around the community.
But it is the sheer enjoyment of creating a wonderful sound with others, week after week, that sees its members return, year after year.
