Dayboro Community Kindergarten March 2009

New Kindy children settling in
Dayboro Community Kindergarten has welcomed two groups each of 22 children for the 2009 Kindy year, with a few familiar faces from last year along with many new children who are already making the most of the Kindy’s fantastic early education environment.

With spacious grounds allowing for indoor and outdoor play, newly-hatched chicks, vegetable gardens awaiting seeds and seedlings, and all a child could want in terms of paint, craft activities, dress-ups, music, books and more, Kindy Director Robyn Hoban said it was a great environment for the children to explore, discover and learn.
“Our greatest priority during this first term is to get the children feeling comfortable and confident in their new environment and developing independence away from home – which can sometimes take most of the term to achieve, but there are always many opportunities for development,” Robyn said.
Parents of Kindy children this year also have something to look forward to.  Thanks to some hard work and generosity by Kindy Committee members Narelle Marks and Craig Stewart, the Kindy parents’ area has had a makeover, complete with a paved outdoor meeting area and both indoor and outdoor play equipment to keep younger siblings entertained.
With the Kindy at full enrolment capacity again this year and waiting lists growing, parents are reminded that they should register their youngsters’ names early on the Kindy waiting list.
Children attend Kindy in their pre-prep year and are eligible to be placed on the Dayboro Kindy waiting list during the financial year (1 July – 30 June) in which they turn one.  A $20 administration fee is payable at the time of registration.
To register your child on the waiting list, visit the Kindy between 9am and 2.30pm, Monday to Friday.  Similarly, if your child is already registered, please keep the Kindy up to date with address or phone number changes, as enrolment offers are sent via mail in the last half of the year prior to commencement.
