Mt Mee’s Country Music nights are legendary and this one will be no exception.

Five hours of good food, good wine, good music and top class entertainment, (not to mention the characters you meet there), is a fail-safe recipe.

The “Lights on the Hill” consists of five musicians who perform regularly as individuals or in smaller groups and who really enjoy the luxury of getting together for the bigger gigs such as ours, which can carry the numbers.  All are members of the Pioneer Country Music Club.

While they are proudly “Country”, they play and sing a very wide repertoire.

On the night we will hear not only country music, but favourite pops of the 60s and 70s, some old-time dance music for dancers trying their hand at the Pride of Erin, Gypsy Tap and Barn Dance, and some good old Rock and Roll to top it all off.

And with a bit of luck Vern Duncan, our very own bass-baritone, just might be persuaded to join them in a tune or two!

The featured artists – the “Bellaires”are a duo of girl singers with about 28 collective years of showbiz experience. (Boy, they must have started young!).

Now firmly based on the Sunshine Coast, they have only been working together for a few months, but they are making a strong mark on the local scene.  Their proclaimed aim is simply to “Put a smile on people’s faces” and their acts are pure fun. (Well – mostly pure anyway).

Dani began her career in Melbourne where she grew up.  She formed her own Country band when she moved to the Sunshine Coast and worked around the Coast scene. She then moved with her family to Mt Isa, where she regularly performed solo – at major events such as the Mt Isa Rodeo, the Longreach Rodeo and the Bedourie Camel Races, as well as at the local clubs.

Dani recently moved back to the Sunshine Coast and met Wendy, the long-time resident vocalist at the Velvet Waters restaurant in Caloundra.  They ‘clicked’ as a combo and the rest is history.

In duo they sing popular music of the seventies and later – with wonderful harmonies and they do swing!  But the jewel in their crown is their comedy impersonations of well- known star performers.  We will get a generous taste of these on the night.

The dinner will be served from 7.30 pm , and so we would appreciate having patrons seated by 7pm.  The bar will be open from 6.30pm and carry a range of Australian beers, spirits and a good wine list all at reasonable prices.

Booking is essential for our catering.
