Happy New Year! At the start of what is another exciting year, I have listed the priorities which have emerged as important issues through consultation with the local community. The Pine Rivers community have told me these are important, and I will be working towards positive outcomes for Pine Rivers in each of these areas during 2013
This coming year is sure to hold both successes and challenges. With a Federal election looming it is time for decisions and direction to make sure our country heads down a positive path.
Welcome to my first column for 2013. I hope that all the Dayboro Grapevine readers have had an enjoyable Christmas/New Year and that those of you who have had the opportunity to holiday are now refreshed and looking forward to the year ahead. Council has delivered tens of millions of dollars in sporting infrastructure, community facilities, social programmes and arts and youth activities over the last 12 months and continued a high level of engagement with the community on many issues through a number of different avenues.

Moreton Bay Regional Council has sent a funding application to the Queensland Government’s Nature Refuges Program to establish a koala refuge on land originally planned for housing in the Samford Valley.
