Samford & Districts Chamber of Commerce members had the chance to get to know the local state election candidates at our last meeting on Wednesday 14 March.
Geoff Wilson (ALP, and current member for Ferny Grove), Dale Shuttleworth (LNP) and Howard Neilsen (Greens), each had the opportunity to introduce themselves and let attendees know a little about their history and why they decided to run in the election.
Then the floor was opened to questions from attendees, and questions ranged from whether a high school would be built in Samford to whether the healthcare system was broken.  It was a very interesting discussion, and gave everyone who attended some fascinating insights into what our local candidates think, what the parties think and also what is important to our local business owners.
At our next meeting in April, Carolyn King from Credos Associates will be speaking about “Why being a good business is good for business”.  In other words, how implementing community-minded, sustainable and inclusive practices can improve your business both now and in the future.
Chamber meetings are open to business owners in Samford and the surrounding districts, who would like to meet and network with other like-minded business owners. Seats are limited so book yours now!
