Nov2010_Campbells Pocket Road Closure
Moreton Bay Regional Council advises Campbells Pocket Road near Wamuran will remained closed to through traffic between Bass Road and Tidwell Road due to flood damage.
A council spokesperson said further inspection of the flood damaged temporary crossing at Antibidawa Creek indicated it was unlikely repairs would be finished before the opening of the first lane of the new bridge in early November.
“The decision to keep the road closed until that time has been made in the best interests and safety of motorists,” the spokesperson said.
“By the time we would have rebuilt the temporary bypass, one lane of new bridge will be open to traffic."
The spokesperson said traffic management measures would be in place during the one lane operation of the new bridge, with the crossing expected to be fully open by the end of November, weather permitting.
Detour signs will remain on Campbells Pocket Road at the intersection of Dawes Road to the south and north at Top Yard Road.
Moreton Bay Regional Council thanks motorists for their patience while work on the new bridge nears completion.
