AUG2010 POLICE NEWS
FINAL REMINDER!!!!! Dayboro Police Charity Trivia Night – Friday 20th of August at the Dayboro Rugby Leagues Club – 6.00pm start – tables of 8 ($120) per table – book at the police station – only 5 tables left!!! On behalf of the Dayboro Police Station I would like to congratulate the Dayboro Show Society on a successful Dayboro Show for 2010. From all reports the show was well planned and effectively managed. A job well done.
Unfortunately over the show weekend (particularly Sunday night) property offences were committed in the Dayboro Township.
The Matilda Service Station was unlawfully entered and two off-road trail bikes were stolen. Dayboro Police and detectives from Petrie are investigating the matter and would like to speak to any person who may have some information regarding the theft.
On the same night unknown persons have unlawfully entered Ross Autos in Rail Close and smashed windows. Police believe that this offence and the Matilda break-in are linked.
Again on Sunday night (or possibly Saturday night) unknown persons have unlawfully entered the Dayboro pool complex and thrown property into the empty pool. No items were stolen or damaged, but pool staff and building contractors were required to clean up the mess that was left in the bottom of the pool. Again police are linking this offence to the other above mentioned offences.
On the 3rd of July 2010 Dayboro Gourmet Delights Café was unlawfully entered and some items were stolen. Thieves removed lower level timber palings to access the building.
It appears that the targets for July were Dayboro businesses and it is a timely reminder that we live in a low crime rate area, but we must not become complacent. We must ensure that we all take responsibility for securing our property and our premises/dwelling the best we can to prevent becoming victims of crime.
Dayboro Police would like to speak with any persons who have information regarding the above mentioned offences. (or call Crime Stoppers)
Residents take note – Hay Road is now 60km/ph from Saddleback Drive to Fingerboard Road. Please slow down and adhere to the new speed limit.
