MOUNT MEE STATE SCHOOL
DAY FOR DANIEL – MONDAY 3 NOVEMBER 2008

76 students and 6 staff wearing red shirts walked several kilometres along Austin Road carrying red balloons and wearing red ribbons.

As part of Day for Daniel students watched a Safety Awareness DVD in the days leading up to the walk.
The walk and sale of balloons and ribbons raised $256.50 for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.
On return to the school the red balloons were tied onto the front fence as a public display of our support for this foundation and cause and to raise community awareness of the need for our children to be safe.
The morning was finished off with a refreshing morning tea of watermelon.
Our sincere thanks to the Mount Mee Rural Fire Brigade for their assistance and support during the morning – much appreciated!
