World Class Hoof Carer in Dayboro
Quietly going about his business around Dayboro is one of the world’s leading natural hoof carers, Peter Laidely of Hoofworks.
You can contact Peter Laidely of Hoofworks on 3289 9988.
For a few months each year he is invited to teach in Europe, but the rest of the time Peter likes to call Mt Samson home, working with horse owners, vets and farriers to see horses with difficult hoof problems recover to health and soundness.
Peter uses natural hoof care to restore horses’ hoofs to be healthy, free of pain, and able to perform at all levels, including successfully competing in events such as strenuous 160km endurance rides.
Peter said, “The horse’s natural hoof is a marvel of design and it can not be improved upon! Our job is to establish and maintain each hoof in the correct shape. This is the foundation for eliminating problems such as cracks, seedy toe, and the deformities caused by laminitis and founder. It is how we restore beautiful, healthy, natural hoofs.”
Dayboro equine specialist vet, Dr Slade Walker, of the Old Mill Veterinary Surgery, sends horses whose hoofs need help, to Peter. Dr Walker said, “I have worked closely with Peter Laidely for a number of years, collaborating on various horse distal limb problems. Peter is very passionate about his craft, effectively conservative, patient with horses, and very good at explaining the problems to the owners, as well as involving owners in their horse’s care.”
Peter said, “I love teaching horse owners of all ages how to care for their own horse’s feet properly. It’s also a wonderful way to build your relationship with your horse.”
As part of Hoofworks’ community education program, Peter is offering four, free, 30 minute consultations, and advice, for horse owners and their horses, with everyone free to watch and ask questions, at the Equine Solutions Clinic on Saturday, 29th of August, 9am to 3pm at the Old Mill Veterinary Surgery in Dayboro.
If you would like one of these free consultations, or to book your horse in for a standard hoof trim or treatment of cracks and infections at the clinic, phone the Old Mill Veterinary Surgery 3425 2222. Actual treatment at the clinic is charged at normal rates.
The Equine Solutions Clinic currently runs once a month with specialist services in natural hoof care, equine dentistry, equine chiropractic, horsemanship and horse training. All the specialists are happy to answer your questions and you can watch them at work.
