The Dayboro Players are getting set to entertain you again in September with another hilarious comedy, “Tragedy at Terrors Creek”!
This year you will get a behind the scenes look at how the fictitious Terrors Creek Players amateur theatre group organises their annual play. Imagine being a ‘fly on the wall’ at the planning meeting, a rehearsal and even the big night. Will the ‘Terrors Creek Players’ be successful in obtaining a grant from the local council? Will the play be a great success? Will all the actors survive the production? Will Joe Calam appear in his underwear? The only way to find out is to come and see it.
The cast this year will feature some very talented new faces as well as those you know and love so much. Rehearsals are well underway under the careful guidance of the director Greg Nugent. The cast are busy refining their characters and learning lines. The support staff are busy planning lighting and sound effects and designing and building sets for the play.
“Tragedy at Terrors Creek” has once again been written specially for the Dayboro Players by local playwright Sharyn Durley. Sharyn has drawn on her extensive experience in theatre to bring you what could almost be called a docu-drama providing unique insight into the activities that precede and accompany an amateur theatre production. You are assured of a thoroughly entertaining evening on either Friday 4th of September or Saturday 5th of September.
Of course, as usual, the ticket for the production includes finger food meal and the show. There will be a bar which will serve wine and beer. Following the success last year the Players are offering a discount for early bookings. We are grateful to all at Rendevouz in Williams Street for offering to sell the tickets for us. They will be available from August 1st. Get together with your friends and book a table as seats are allocated as sold and you may not be able to sit together if you do not book together. There are no reservations without payment and unfortunately the tickets are non-refundable.
