Brainchild of local residents Liz Laur and Tim Harlow, Destination Dayboro provides its members with a central online ‘tourist information hub’ to promote the district and highlight individual destinations.
The set-up also provides members with a valuable support network that will allow them to work together to better promote the Dayboro tourism area as a thriving arts, food, wine, farming and outdoor living community.
Liz said she and Tim, as Dayboro locals, knew first-hand how much this region had to offer and saw Destination Dayboro as a way to enhance the natural growth of tourism.
“There’s great potential here and our members are already out there promoting their businesses and this area; Destination Dayboro gives them the tools, networks and support to take it to the next level,” she said.
Destination Dayboro was launched with seven members: Cedar Creek Gallery and Tea Rooms, Dayboro Art Gallery, Dayboro Cottages and Llama Walks, The Dayboro Shed Antiques and Collectables, Ocean View Estates, Rainfield Studio, and Rendezvous at Dayboro.
The launch meeting was hosted by Thomas and Kate Honnef of Ocean View Estates, and attended by all members, along with Lyn Cooley of Moreton Bay Regional Council, who provided valuable input and ideas for the group to consider.
Liz and Tim are in the process of speaking with other destinations in the region for possible inclusion in the network, and they can be contacted via email info@destinationdayboro.com.au
