This will be the 15th Annual Big October Ride so if you have a horse come join us on what will be a totally new 3 hour ride, and 92% new 7 hour ride.
(If you intend going on the 7 hour ride your horse will need to be fit as it will be a more challenging ride than previously).
Your horse should be shod or wearing boots, and a halter should be worn, or taken with you.
This ride has some great scenic sites.
The format for Friday & Saturday will be much the same as last year; both evenings will have a camp fire (with permission from the firies), a licenced bar, music, and hopefully lots of photos on a screen.
Friday night meals: Steak burger $6.00 with $3.00 dessert to follow.
The Show Society ladies will be catering for Saturday & Sunday breakfasts; and a two course meal on Saturday night from 6.30pm which must be booked beforehand.
The ride fees are: TRA members $35.00 and visitors $50.00 (!#@!# insurance companies!). This covers camping, insurance, morning tea and lunch.
If you do not ride but would like to be a part of Saturday evening’s fun, $10.00 at the door gets you in.
Both rides leave the Showground at 8.30am sharp, and, as we will have the police escort us through town, we must be on time.
This year the ride will go up Williams Street and turn left into Bradley Street, and then into Butler’s from the Bowls Club entrance.
As we have consistently had over 200 riders each year from as far north as Gladstone, to all outlying areas of Brisbane and the Gold Coast, we suggest that you book early, and we look forward to catching up with everyone again.
