RODEO 2008 ROUND-UP

What a day we had for the rodeo!

Fantastic weather and huge crowd numbers.  In fact there were nearly 4500 people through the gate.  The biggest crowd in around ten years.  Thank you Dayboro.

Saddlebronc and Bull Ride
There were plenty of thrills and spills at the Dayboro Rodeo in 2008.
Man is not always the winner in these events, as contentants test their skills using only their legs and one hand to hold on for the required 8 seconds.
It was great to see Martin Carlo (who used to work for Scott at the butchers) come second in the Open Bull Ride.
I would like to say thanks to all the people who made it a great day.  The caterers, volunteers from all our community groups, all worked very hard feeding the thousands.  Julie and Leah worked at the bar all day along with the Apex crew.  The Lions worked at the gate and car parking.  Greg, you did a great job as usual.  Jacqui, you made the contractors day pulling the gate at the timed event end.  Gavin, thank you for doing everything you were asked.  It was your first time and you worked very hard.  To all the rodeo committee, though there were hard times you all pulled together to make a successful day for Dayboro.  Thank you to all the very generous people who donated their hard-earned cash.  Conrad you were great.  To Ken and Deb who policed the area, it is very much appreciated to have a police presence.  The Ambos (who are the only people that we actually want to do nothing all day), administered first aid to a few competitors.  Without all these people we just wouldn’t have a rodeo!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH
