Over 50s have access to everything from jet skiing to four-wheel driving

Have you ever wanted to try jet skiing, four-wheel driving or Tibetan style yoga Kum Nye?

Older & Bolder, a successful Pine Rivers District program coordinated by council for residents and rate payers who are aged 50 years and over, offers these activities and much more.

Building on the success of the past three years, the recently formed Moreton Bay Regional Council will continue the Older & Bolder program and expand it to Redcliffe and Caboolture districts.

Mayor Allan Sutherland said hundreds of satisfied local residents have already taken advantage of the wide range of low cost and subsidised activities and events Older and Bolder has provided.

“This spring, they will have the opportunity to try new activities such as Jet Skiing, Abseiling at Kangaroo Point Cliffs, Cycle By The Sea, Kum Nye, and Introduction to four-wheel-driving to keep active,” he said.

“For 50 plus residents who enjoy travel, the Older & Bolder coach tours will include destinations such as Mount Tamborine, Kingscliff and Eumundi Markets, as well as the Mary Valley Rattler and Highfields Heaven.”

Cr Sutherland said a new activity booking system was being introduced to make it fairer for customers.

“Older & Bolder customers can call between 8.30am and 5pm each week day between August 15 and August 22 to lodge a booking request, for the first regional program scheduled for Monday September 8 to Friday September 19,” he said.

“Booking requests for each activity will be placed in a draw with participant placements allocated at random. “
