The Dayboro Chapter of the Bray Park RSL Sub Branch would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Mr Richard Hawkins who filled the position of acting President of the Chapter during the interim period from its reformation to the first Annual General Meeting in May 12.
Unfortunately, due to unforseen personal reasons Richard has since resigned from the Chapter and as such, the members thank him for his unselfish contribution and wish him well in his future endeavours.

3 Oct 1918 Lt. J. Maxwell awarded the VC at Beaurevoir
4 Oct 1917 Sgt. L. McGee awarded the VC at Ypres
5 Oct 1918 Lt. G.M. Ingram awarded the VC at Montbrehain
7 Oct 1951 Fight for The Hinge, Korea
8 Oct 1942 Australians in battle with Japanese forces within kilometres from Port Moresby.
9 Oct 1950 UN Forces cross 38th Parallel into North Korea
12 Oct 1917 Capt C.S. Jeffries awarded the VC at Passchendaele
17 Oct 1950 Australians in action at Sanwon, Korea
18 Oct 1944 HMAS Geelong sunk off New Guinea
21 Oct 1944 HMAS Australia damaged by suicide aircraft- many lives lost
23 Oct 1942 Battle of El Alamein begins
26 Oct:
1917 Pte. P.E. Gratwick awarded the VC at Miteirya Ridge, Western Desert
1956 2 RAR in action against terrorists in Malaya
27 Oct:
1942 Japanese withdrawing along Owen Stanley Trail – Australian troops in pursuit
1950 Australians win battle of Broken Ridge, Korea.
29 Oct:
1964 Australian troops engage Indonesian troops Sungei Kesang, West Malaysia
1970 South Vietnam Unit commendation awarded to 8 RAR
31 Oct:
1918 "Beersheba Day" In memory of the Light Horse units
1942 Sgt. W.H. Kirbby awarded the VC at El Alamein
1 Task Force engaged in Operation Santa Fe, a multi brigade mission in the Maytoo Mountains, South Vietnam.
