TICKS TICKS TICKS AND SNAKES
We have been inundated with patients (dogs, cats, calves and even adult cows!) affected by tick paralysis.
Please ensure your pet is up to date with your preferred tick prevention regime. Currently there are tick collars for dogs that last 6-8weeks, tick sprays for cats that last 2 weeks and tick spot ons for dogs that last 2 weeks. The tick tablets are no longer available.
There are also products available for farm animals. Feel free to call us to discuss what would suit your animals’ needs. We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about which tick prevention options are best for you and your pet.
Whilst prevention is better than cure, nothing is 100%. Please perform daily tick searches on all your pets.
Also please be aware that snakes are out and about …. We have also had numerous dogs bought in over the past several weeks in a critical condition.
