WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN OUR GRAPEVINE CREW?
Because of retirements and changes of address of some of our members, the Grapevine is looking for new Editorial members.
The Dayboro Grapevine is run by the Dayboro Regional Information Network Inc., and people who work on the paper are VOLUNTEERS. So, if you would like to be engaged in an interesting activity, learn how we edit and compile our small newspaper, and at the same time serve your community in a beneficial way, come along and see what we are all about.
The main workload is done following the deadline (which falls on the 3rd Friday of each month) i.e. on the Monday and Tuesday evenings following that deadline.
Monday evenings involve proof reading the typed and printed articles which have been submitted, and on the Tuesday evening we plan out the publication. Doreen then implements this plan on the computer and send it to the Printers.
We mainly use articles submitted, already written, but occasionally we are asked to write the story with the information supplied to us. If you would like to write stories there is also the opportunity for you to try this too – either by creating a story from information supplied, or choosing to attend an event, then writing about it. Come along and see what we are about, with the view to joining our happy crew.
