Majella Holton BA (Psych)
Artist of the Month – Dayboro Art Gallery
Majella Holton took up painting in earnest, some five years ago.
Initially her love of arts was expressed through Ballroom Dancing. Since recently semi-retiring, Majella has been able to fully realize her dreams and immerse herself in art. Art flows through the family veins, with a second cousin taking out the prestigious Archibald Prize eight times.
Initially participating in many workshops with talented Australian artists, Majella is now studying a Cert IV in Visual Arts at TAFE. Her artworks demonstrate experimentation with different mediums and subject matter and more recently you can see a new energy being captured in the action artworks.
Majella is a resident of Mount Mee, north of Dayboro, and has won many prizes in local regional shows over the last few years. Majella also exhibits throughout the Moreton Bay Region.
The Dayboro Art Gallery is the home of 38 local artists and all of the works displayed are of a high standard. The Gallery is open 7 days a week from 10 to 3pm.
