June2014_Laceys Creek Road embankment to be rebuilt
Moreton Bay Regional Council has awarded a $286,448 tender for the reconstruction of a road embankment on Laceys Creek Road, Laceys Creek.
Division 11 councillor Bob Millar said the existing embankment was damaged by extreme weather events in 2013.
“Rebuilding the embankment will help to prevent further slippage and in the medium term reduce ongoing road maintenance costs on Laceys Creek Road,” Cr Millar said.
“Construction is scheduled to begin in July and should be completed by October, weather permitting.
“Motorists may experience minor delays during construction.”
The project is being funded by the federal and state government’s Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) Scheme.
