June2014_DAYBORO ART GALLERY NEWS

Local Artist Jennie McDowall has had a lifetime interest in “anything creative”.
This has included painting and photography, but after several years ‘dabbling with Decoupage’, has turned dabbling into an art form.

Decoupage is an old art form dating from the 17th century and used by the Italians, French, and English to imitate the Oriental lacquer style furniture that was being bought from Japan and China. Jennie has evolved a style using her own photographs and materials with these traditional techniques.  Jennie believes the possibilities are endless, and the search for that special image, shape or pattern never ends, nor does the pleasure of breathing new life into a piece which is recycled, old or simply out of date.
Jennie’s work is featured at Dayboro Art Galley throughout June.
The Gallery is open  7 days a week from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
