BRUCE MERCER
Artist of the Month for JUNE
Bruce was born in Brisbane in 1942 and stared drawing when he was 4 years old – on the concrete paths using charcoal from his mother’s washing copper.
In his late teens Bruce attended the Technical Art College at the end of George Street, Brisbane.
Bruce says that he works with most mediums – acrylic, oils, pastels, pyrography and caricaturing sketches.
His inspiration? Man made structure, life form, nature, light and shade, sunset skies, clouds, land and seascapes.
“Art is my journey, I am a painter of canvas, an artist of my dreams.”
