Jun2013_Rainbow Atma Monthly Musing
I have a home!
Finally I have found a space for Rainbow Atma. I am at Petrie roundabout shops, right next to the tattoo shop. Denise Eagleton, Gestalt Psychotherapist, will be working from the shop to the front of me. By the time this article is printed we will be nicely settled into our new environment. We are both very excited about the work we will be doing together and our hope is that it will be inspirational to all our clients.
My new environment is what leads me into the topic for this month and something that I think isn’t given much attention. How much does your environment impact on your state of mind and state of health? This question holds a lot of interest for me.
My challenge to you is to take some notice of how you are in your different environments and notice what impacts you and how. Then maybe you could take that a bit further and be interested in others and start noticing if your friends and family appear to be different in different environments. If you have children, they are great indicators of their environment, notice what happens for them and check it out with them. Ask them how they feel when you notice a difference. I encourage you to play with the idea.
As for your health, the importance of being aware of your environment and how and what impacts you can mean the difference between being clear about what may be considered a “normal” reaction or experience and something that may need some balancing. For example if you start to feel irritated, hot and bothered as the saying goes, in summer then you can use your food, yoga and breathing to cool yourself down. Once you have some understanding around this, a whole new world of empowerment opens up and that is what my experience has been. On the other hand if you are finding yourself crying at the drop of a hat and this is different to how you usually are, then it would be helpful to seek professional advice.
Check out my website (www.rainbowatma.com.au) for details on the workshops I will be running. My intention is to have regular information days that will give you skills to support yourself in situations like what I have been speaking about and more. We also plan on opening our space for meditation before work – how good would it be to start your day being in an environment of meditation!
I want to offer Grapevine readers a $20 discount for the month of June and all you need to do to redeem this is to mention this article when you book in for a treatment, workshop or counselling session. There may be some treatments that I won’t be able to apply this discount to and the reason is that some of my treatments are not given unless they are part of a program and I can explain this more on an individual basis. I look forward to seeing you in my new space.
Rainbow Atma’s first Residential Program will have been run and I will share some thoughts from the participants in the July Grapevine.
Until next month
May you all be well and may you all be happy
