July2015_MUSIC FOR LIFE

Music  Education has been pushed to the background for far too long.  Studies have demonstrated that  music stimulates the brain in more areas than any other activity.  Active music making improves overall academic performance.
Nicole Hall [Dip. Teach. and Grad. Cert. Music] has been teaching in the local area for 25 years and is still as enthusiastic as the day she started.  She teaches Piano/ Keyboard, Clarinet, Singing and Guitar and loves to play and perform to improve and increase her skill base.  She has taught children as young as 4 and 5 up to 69 years of age!  She embraces the individuality of each student and aims to provide a programme to meet their requirements.  Students also learn to create their own music in time.  Exams are available, but not compulsory.  She is happy to travel to your home.
Nicole also loves to teach toddlers and preschoolers in small groups. [2 and a half to 5 years of age.]  Her Early Childhood Music and Movement classes [Spiritoso ] are an excellent preparation for individual lessons at a later date, a great way to develop a musical ‘ear’ and appreciation for music, or simply just a great way to learn and have fun!  Early learning areas such as numeracy, literacy, science and social skills are incorporated into songs. [with a large Australian content].  Live music is favoured over CD’s.  Children will have a practicing musician performing on a variety of instruments and singing for them and with them. [unlike many early childhood music classes]  They will learn to play a variety of percussion instruments, move and dance to different styles of music, animate musical stories with dress ups and puppets, learn to vocalise and sing and have a fantastic time.  If numbers permit, children are split into different age groups to increase the effectiveness of their learning experiences.
