Recognition for a Job Well Done!
The Star Care Awards are presented annually during Ambulance Week in recognition of Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) personnel and volunteers who have made an outstanding contribution to QAS and/or the Queensland community.

The Honorary Ambulance Officer of the Year Award is one of eight Star Care Award categories presented to an officer who has made a significant contribution to the QAS and has worked cooperatively to support Paramedics over the past twelve months.
Stephen Durley, one of our local First Responders, was awarded the 2009 Honorary Ambulance Officer of the Year for his ongoing commitment to the service as a First Responder at Dayboro Ambulance Station. Stephen, who is also a member of the Dayboro Local Ambulance Committee (LAC), has provided high level assistance to Paramedics throughout the local community. He is noted for his ability to follow directions with ease, has demonstrated capacity to provide a high level of care when working a case and goes out of his way to assist with supportive administrative duties. Stephen is quick to establish an excellent rapport with people and has become a valuable asset on our team.
