Dickson Seniors Expo 18th and 19th August 2008
The 2008 Dickson Seniors’ Expo will be held at the Strathpine Community Centre, Mecklem Street, Strathpine on August 18th and 19th.
The Expo is a great opportunity for retired, or about to retire seniors, to access information on activities/services available in the community. More than 35 businesses and not-for-profit organisations are represented.
Exhibits include:
True Blue Caravan Club
Seniors Social Clubs
Travel opportunities including Seniors Holiday travel and Cross Country Tours
Federal, State and Local Governments Services
Australian Hearing
Advice on numerous health issues
Entry is free, lucky door prizes to be won, interesting and informative speakers on a variety of subjects and a fashion parade for women and men to entertain all who attend. Entertainment at the Official Opening at 10am will be from the Jim and Tonics.
This year the Seniors Expo will have a special cooking presentation by Rachael from 4 Ingredients, authors of the best selling 4 ingredients cookbook.
Guest speakers include The Hon Peter Dutton MP, Federal Member for Dickson and Cr Allen Sutherland, Mayor of Moreton Bay Regional Council. Other presenters include Victoria Gill from Green Apple Wellness Centre, Russell Young from Theo’s Nursery and Garden Centre and Chilan Tai Chi will give us an active demonstration. Northside Singers, Shay Green Podiatry, Bush Poetry and a Clogging Group will also entertain all who attend.
Complimentary sample bags will be given to all seniors who attend!
This year a Shuttle Bus will be running to and from the Expo every half hour from Westfields Strathpine at the bus stop area.
Refreshments are available and off street parking available.
Monday 18th 9.30am to 3.00pm and Tuesday 19th 9.00am to 3.00pm.
