Nominations are now open for the Australian of the Year Awards 2009. The Australian of the Year Awards recognises and celebrates the achievements and contributions of eminent Australians who are role models to us all. Nominations are invited in four categories:
• Australian of the Year
• Senior Australian of the Year (60 years & older)
• Young Australian of the Year (16 to 30 years)
Australia’s Local Hero

NATIONAL BROADBAND NETWORK INQUIRY
The Federal Opposition initiated bi-partisan Senate Select Inquiry into Labor’s proposed National Broadband Network project is seeking submissions from broadband users. Submissions are being accepted until 15 August 2008 and can be lodged at broadband.sen@aph.gov.au. The final reporting date is 30 March 2009.
