So which of these has happened to you?  by Lynne Kafoa
Intro (By Joanne Harding-Smith), recently Lynne returned home from 6 weeks away in Russia, Scandinavia and France and upon her return we were having a giggle over some of the things that occur when you’re away.  So I asked her to indulge me and she sent me this email which I know will be amusing, especially to the more seasoned traveller:
Here are the things I have learnt so far which may be of use at some point:
1. If you are in 7 hotels in 10 days the method of turning a bath tap into the shower tap will be different in each.

2. If everyone else eats 3 course breakfasts, lunches and dinners and you eat fruit and yoghurt  you will put on weight and they won’t.

3. The clothes you discarded as the ones you wouldn’t take are the ones you wish you had.

4. When you have 4 different currencies in 2 weeks you will have too much of the one you don’t need and not enough of the one you do.

5. Check the number your mate uses for the hotel safe.

6. When you feel good because your 1960’s school French gives you 95% understanding of your French villa housekeeper’s tour of the place, the other 5% will leave you stranded in the basement laundry with no light because you decided that the reference to la lumiere (which you knew was the light) wasn’t important when it was actually about it being on a 5 minute timer switch. It’s very black down there and no-one can hear you!

That’s all I have time for, because tip number 7 is that if you start to do something because everyone else is fannying about they will suddenly be ready to leave – immediately!
