Dayboro & District Rural Fire Brigade
Congratulations John (Johnny) Juleff on being appointed Fire Warden for the Dayboro area.  John is an active member of the brigade and a Crew Leader and volunteered for the role of FW when the very awesome Gary Fuller had to resign from the post.  Gary we thank you for the many years and countless hours you dedicated to this role, and the community.

Johnny, thank you for putting your hand up despite having a full time job and family to look after.  Please know you have the whole brigade behind you.
The Fire Warden’s role is a volunteer position and includes granting or rejecting applications for permit to light fire, determining the conditions under which permitted fires can be lit, advising owners and occupiers of the need for fuel and hazard reduction, and recommending safety precautions for the protection of homes and assets.
IF WE ALL DO A LITTLE, WE’LL ACCOMPLISH A LOT
…ARE YOU READY?…
Are you sure?  Statistics from our area Bushfire Safety Officer show that VCE’s (Volunteer Community Educators) for our area spent more than 10,000 hours on community engagement activities and talked to more than 7,000 residents from May to July.  We’re sure there are many more hours that haven’t been captured.  These hours are just VCE’s hours and don’t include the many hours the brigade members spent with the community.  Hopefully this means we are all better prepared for the bushfire season and severe weather events.  Incase you are not one of the 7,000 and need more information call us today or visit one of the sites below.
Don’t wait until it’s too late – get ready now!
…VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR…
Mr Glenn Bell
Caboolture Area Rural Fire Brigade Groups awarded Glenn the ‘Volunteer of the Year’ award for outstanding dedication and commitment to Rural Fire Service.  Glenn received this award at the Group Christmas Dinner in November.
Many of you will know Glenn as he is actively involved with many events and organisations around town including Dayboro Day, Rodeo, Big October Ride, the awesome Monthly Markets, Dayboro Show, RFS day, Swaggies…and the list goes on.  On 14th September 2002, Glenn was elected as Chairman of DDRFB.  A role he still holds to this day.
He is held in very high esteem not only by Brigade members but other community groups as well.  Full VIP segment on him in next issue … if I can talk him in to it.
You will find more presentation photos on our Facebook page.
