CONGRATULATIONS TO GYPSIE AND BRONTY

Congratulations Gypsie and Bronty Burgess for reaching their weight loss goals and making it to the top 5 in Hill’s Petfit Slimmer of the Year competition!
For their efforts they have won $1000 worth of Hills pet food. ‘Mum’, Belinda hasn’t been left out either. She has won a $1000 Flight Centre voucher for her dedication in helping ensure the girls reached their goal.
Gypsie and Bronty are 9 year old Border Collies whose weight had gradually crept up over the years. Belinda enrolled them both in our weight loss clinic earlier in the year to set them on the right path to weight loss, and they haven’t looked back. As the weight started to come off they have both become more active and agile and are enjoying play time like pups again.
Excess weight has numerous health implications, such as joint disease, diabetes and heart disease. It can be a vicious cycle, as they gain weight they become less active, leading to more weight gain. The good news is, we can do something about it and the benefits are immense.

And while we’re talking about weight & nutrition, here is a timely reminder about Christmas food. Many of the treats we enjoy can actually be harmful or toxic to our pets. For example, ham, grapes and sultanas, macadamias, onions and chocolate.
Lastly, don’t forget your pets need plenty of fresh, cool water available at all times during this hot, steamy weather. . . and somewhere cool and shady to rest during the heat of the day.
